Application Instructions
The Dutchess County Application is used to apply for both current vacancies/recruitments and Civil Service Exams.
Before Applying:
- Carefully read the appropriate examination or recruitment announcement before completing the application. It will inform you of the required minimum qualifications for the position and provide you with other important information.
- Your application must be completed in full. Incomplete, incorrect or illegible information will result in your application being disapproved.
- Be specific – Omissions or vagueness will NOT be resolved in your favor:
- Dates of employment should be as specific as possible.
- Omission of the number of hours worked will result in no credit for that work experience.
For applicants who may require an accommodation:
- It is the policy of Dutchess County to provide reasonable accommodation to an applicant with a disability at any time from recruitment to hiring.
- Applicants needing an accommodation specifically related to taking a civil service exam should contact HRExams@DutchessNY.Gov.
- Applicants for positions with Dutchess County Government who need an accommodation should submit a Request for Accommodation Based on Disability (.pdf) to ADARequests@DutchessNY.Gov.
- All other applicants needing an accommodation who are canvassed for positions for agencies other than Dutchess County Government should reach out to the appointing authority to submit a request.
